Founded in 2014 by Senegalese men and women residing in Canada, the ACAFIS housing cooperative, which now has 48 members, is officially recognized by the State of Senegal (interministerial decree no. 018485 of August 10, 2018). The members share a common vision: to make the Senegalese diaspora a driving force for socioeconomic, cultural, and environmental development in Senegal. They are united by values ​​of community, solidarity, peace, and Teranga (hospitality), which will guide community life within the Garden City.
